He is survived by: his wife Barbara Strickland Helms; his daughters, Denise Helms Wells (Don) and Christy Helms Artus (Gray); and his siblings, JoAnn Sanders and Tommy Helms. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
