He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis McKinney and Josie McKinney; his wife Barbara Cain; and his son William Louis McKinney. He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Ann Garreau of Cumming, GA, Diane McKinney Green of Asheville and Kevin Lane McKinney of Asheville. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home - Patton Ave. (1401 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pisgah View Memorial Park (1529 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715).
