He was predeceased by : his parents, James Snowden Johnson and Dorothy Coker Johnson; his son Jerry Johnson; his siblings, James Johnson (Bud), Edward Johnson (Ed), Peggy Gregory, Margaret Hurdle and Janie Tucker; and his brothers-in-law, William Hurdle (Bill), James Gregory (Greg) and William Boswell (Red).
He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Johnson; his sister Betty Boswell of Alamance County; his stepchildren, Tom Beanblossom (Jeanette) of Denton and Vicki Smith (Brian) of Ridgeville, S. C.; his stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Cullen (Joe) of Martinsburg, WV and Matt Beanblossom (Kristen) of Thomasville; his stepgreat-grandsons, Logan, Zach, Landon and Lester; his children, Julie Baker (Terry) of Boiling Springs, SC and Jonathan Johnson of Asheville; his close friends, Susie Hartman, Larry, Shirley Barleykamp and Leslie Woodley; and also Jim Bowers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
