With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Luther Truett Jr. (Asheville, North Carolina), born in Andrews, North Carolina, who passed away on August 27, 2020 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Luther Truett and Ollie Carter Truett; his former wife Mary Joyce Truett; his wife Janice Hekhuis Truett; his sons, Richard Truett (Carolyn) of Houston, Michael Truett (Janet) of Asheville and N. C.; his stepdaughter Debbie Mehaffey (Michael) of Madisonville; and his nephew Truett West (Joanne) of Shallotte. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the name of James Truett may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
