John left this world on October 10, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Adell and Maggie Pertiller Adell; his wife Gladys R. Adell; his sons, John Kenneth and Jerry Thomas Adell; and his siblings, Garfield Pertiller, Columbus Pertiller, Joe James Adell, Charles Adell, Horace Adell, Sr., Robert Adell, Arsonia Adell McDowell and Alice Adell Pea.
He is survived by: his daughters, Darlene Adell Miller (Earl) of Greenville, SC and Patricia Adell of Fletcher, NC; his grandchildren, Leah Miller and Ty Adell Besses; and his sister Hattie Adell Mills. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (754 Aiken Rd, Asheville, NC 28804). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
