It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leah Robinson Karpen (Asheville, North Carolina), who passed away on September 1, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Dr. Samuel and Esther Kroman Robinson; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Robinson and Mary Robinson Ryals; her husband Morris Karpen; her children, Daniel (Alexandra), Seth (Nancy), Joe (Jean) and Rachel (Dana); her grandchildren, Simon, Lucy, Joshua, Alexandra and Devi; and her great grandchildren, Jakob, Rai and Isaac.
In appreciation for their donations to UNCA Endowments, the university named both Robinson Hall and Karpen Hall in their honor.
