With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Myrtle Stamey (Asheville, North Carolina), who passed away on December 3, 2018 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Ellis Laughter; her husband William McKinley Stamey, Jr.; her granddaughter Anita Louise Murdock; and her siblings, Wylie Laughter, Ralph Laughter, Fred Laughter, Bessie Parris, Georgia Guice, Mary Jo Kelly, Lois Case and Jessie Newman.
She is survived by: her parent Janie Edwards Laughter; her child Louise Murdock; her grandchildren, Carol Walker, Stephanie Murdock, Stacy Duncan, William Stamey, IV, Michelle Layfield, Jennifer Sluder, David Sluder and Jessica Kerr; her great grandchildren, Gray Murdock, Samantha Walker, Katelyn, Ashlyn Layfield, Wesley and Hunter Kerr; and her sister Pauline Laughter.
