She was predeceased by: her parents, George Baldwin and Dessie Hare Baldwin; her husband Roland Edgar Whitaker; her son David E. Whitaker; and her brothers, Richard Baldwin and George H. Baldwin Jr. Ruby.
She is survived by: her daughters, Wanda Penland and Teresa Hudson; her grandchildren, Seth Whitaker, Rebecca Penland, Kevin Hudson and Courtney Hudson Smith; and her sister Genell Ertzberger. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
