With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Teena Windham Wells of Asheville, North Carolina, born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on August 7, 2022 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Cole Lawrence and Ernestine Asbury Windham. She is survived by: her husband Zeb Wells; her sons, Todd Hunter (Vanessa) and Colton of Marietta, GA; her stepchildren, Nichole Wells of Weaverville, NC and Josh Wells (Anna Newton-Levinson); her stepgrandchild Fiona of Atlanta, GA.; her sister Colene House (Johnny) of Asheville, NC; and her sibling's children, Melinda Guth (Matt) of Cypress, TX and Lee House of Asheville, NC. She is also survived by 4 great-nephews as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Teena's name to Manna Food Bank of WNC or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

“I am so sorry to hear this sad news of Teena ‘s passing. I only knew her in high school but my memories of her sparkle. She was always kind with a friendly smile. And when I was trying to decide whether or not to enter the local beauty contest, Teena, Miss Ashville 1966, was there encouraging me and giving me confidence. Also, who can ever forget her star quality portrayal of Wendy in John Haber’s “Peter Pan”! We all loved you, Teena, and glad to have known you.”
