He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilliard Cole and Ella Garrison Cole; his siblings, Boyd Cole, Madge Jarvis, Dale Wright and Pauline Matson; and his granddaughter Tiffany Burgess.
He is survived by: his wife Grace Carter Cole; his daughter Sandra Cole (Tim) of Asheville; his granddaughters, Crystal Dotson (Eric) of Black Mountain and April Cole of Asheville; his great grandchildren, William Burgess of Asheville, Austin Roberts of Fairview, Eli of Black Mountain and Emmett Dotson of Black Mountain; and his close friends, Emo of Asheville, Kathleen Radeker of Asheville and Betty Reed of Asheville.
