He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Ann Moss Meacomes; his parents, Robert M. Meacomes and Carrie U. Meacomes; his brother Robert Ray Meacomes; and his friend Doris Finch Bass.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert M. Meacomes (Vickie) of Coral Gables and Horace Meacomes, Jr. (Bobbie) of Bailey; his foster children, Peggy Evans Bullock (Dwight) of Bailey and David K. Evans (Beth) of Bailey; his grandson Christopher D. Meacomes (Karen) of Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Carson D. Meacomes of Wilson and Katelyn Deanna Meacomes of Wilson. He is also survived by foster children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
