She was predeceased by : her parents, Luther "Buck" Faison and Claudia Lewis Faison; her siblings, William "Bill" Henry Faison and Gloria F. Bunn; her niece Kelly B. Scott; and her great-nephew Craig Scott.

She is survived by : her husband Thelbert D. Boykin, Jr.; her sons, Jonathan Boykin (Zoe Dorton Boykin) of Raleigh and Matthew Boykin (Abby Boykin) of Nashville; her grandchildren, Avery Boykin, Jonathan Alexander "Alex" Boykin, Bryson Boykin and Conner Boykin; and her aunt Eloise Hibbs of Wilson.
