She was predeceased by : her parents, Herbert Richmond "H. R." and Biddie Ann Buchanan McKinney; her husband Billy Scott Bennett; her siblings, Ruth Greene, Ibbie Wyatt, Rev. Herby McKinney, Wilkie McKinney and Lloyd McKinney; and her siblings-in-law, Bell McKinney, Louise McKinney, Joe Greene and Dewitt Wyatt.

She is survived by : her children, Susie Harris, Darryl Bennett of Bakersville, Billy Bennett (Cindy) of Bakersville and Roger Bennett of Bakersville; her grandchildren, Taylor Bennett, Darren Gardner, Rebecca Gardner, Ethan Harris (Laken), Kayla Bennett, Dillon Bennett, Amber Bennett, Austin Bennett and Shaylee Bennett (Derick); her great grandchildren, Jayden, Jace, Garrett, Jon, Presley, Gabby, Weston, Rylie, Ariane, Nolan, Makayla, Jaylen and Braylon; and her niece Valerie Biddix. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
