She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank Parker and Myrtle Sparks Parker; and her siblings, Juanita Smith, Smith Parker, Jim Parker, Herman Parker, Wayne Parker, Marilene Ledford, Dayton Parker and Mackie Parker.

She is survived by : her husband John Hughes; her son Christopher Hughes of Maiden, NC; her granddaughter McKaelon O'Neil Hughes of Virginia; and her sisters, Shelby Parker Cornwell of Maiden, NC and Billie Jo Parker Deyton of Green Mountain, NC. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
