She was predeceased by : her parents, Glen Banks and Mae Mosley Banks; her husband Ray Garland; her siblings, Helen Yelton, Myrtle Butler, Ethel Hoilman, Edmond Banks, Russell Banks and Marshall Banks; and her stepson Mark Butler.

She is survived by : her children, Niki Jones (Dustin) of Spruce Pine, NC and Scotty Hoilman (Colleen Newburn) of Bakersville, NC; her stepson Jamie Butler of South Carolina; her siblings, Ronnie Banks of Bakersville, NC, Wanda Hope Yelton of Bakersville, NC, Josie Garland of Bakersville, NC, Thelma Lovelace of Johnson City, TN, Pearl Yelton (Wade) of Green Mountain, NC and Diane Farley of Newland, NC; her grandchildren, Keenan Hoilman, Christina Johnson Hopper (Quantez) and Shay Jones; and her great grandchildren, Landon and LJ Surratt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
