He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Lewis and Lula Lewis; his wife Joanne Lewis; and his sister Mary Etta Mendelson. He is survived by: his children, Donna Carlene Hunt (Timothy) of Newport, Elizabeth McGraw of Morehead City and Donald Lee Lewis of Morehead City; his sisters, Gloria Gray Ellis of Newport, Ann Culpepper of Beaufort, Agnes Mae Lewis of Morehead City and Amy Wilder of Trenton; his grandchildren, Juanita Kala Lewis, Samuel, Matthew Hunt, Sage Lewis, Marianna McGraw, Jacob McGraw, Jonathan McGraw and Devin Adams; his great grandchildren, Aiden See and Laurianna Lewis; his stepchildren, Lora Brown and Michael Dean Hendrickson; and his siblings' children, Emily, Mike Lewis, Jeanie Buchanan, Carla Ellis and Elizabeth Payne.
