She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Edward "Ed" Jones, Sr. and Ida Austin Jones; her husband Charles Z. Chappell, Jr.; and her siblings, Charles T. Jones, Odis E. Jones, Floyd E. Jones, Jr., Evelyn J. Willis, Noma J. Davis and June J. Piner.
She is survived by: her friends, Sally Herring and Joyce Gutknecht; her daughter Libby Chappell of Beaufort; her granddaughters, Kristi Paylor (Richie) and Karli McCormick (Perry); her great grandchildren, Ashlyn Burney of Beaufort, Allie White of Beaufort and Hudson Paylor of Beaufort; her grandson Jacob Peaden of Greenville; and her nieces, Claudia, Linda, Susan and Luanne.
Eventually, she was asked to be the leader of the group and for many years she supported and collected for the American Cancer Society.
