She is survived by: her children, Chris Matthews (Deana) of Vanceboro and Amanda Smithwick (Shaun) of Jamesville; her stepdaughters, Beth Lee of Belhaven, Betsy Hopkins (Patrick Jordan) of Belhaven and Tina Taylor of Chocowinity; her mother Nellie Byrd of Bailey; her siblings, Herbert Blaylock, Jr. (Kim) of Florida, Judy Kilpatrick of Belhaven, Patsy Howard (Billy) of Pikeville, Gail Garrett (Ronald) of Bristol, VA, Fran McKinney (Wayne) of Kinston and Jackie Crisp (Greg); her half-sister Giselle Martin of Marseille, France; her grandchildren, Shaye "Puppy Cheeks" Kalmowitz (Todd), Cayla "Doll Baby" Matthews, Drew "Drew Bear" Williams and Landon "Buddy" Matthews (Dakota Mason); her great grandchildren, Marshall Kalmowitz, Mitchell Kalmowitz, Madison Kalmowitz and Lily Matthews; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Cuthrell of Pinetown and Thelma Foster. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
