She was predeceased by : her parents, George Laxton and Cosby Marshall Laxton; her daughters, Susan and Teresa Capps; and her sister Betty Laxton Mattox.

She is survived by : her husband Charles "Dale" Dowdle; her sons, Trey and Mike Capps; her granddaughter Brittany; and her great grandchildren, Emmett, Jacob and Natalie.
