She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Sellers and Evelyn Wescott Sellers; her husband Billy Hugh Abernathy; and her sister Faye Sellers Cobb. She is survived by: her children, Tim Abernathy (Teresa) of Belmont, Tilda Abernathy Jones of Cramerton and Johnny Jones of Belmont; and her granddaughter Kayla Abernathy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the South Point Baptist Church (124 Horsley Ave, Belmont, NC 28012). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
