It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rhonda Kaye Thornton (Benson, North Carolina), who passed away on September 22, 2021, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Harold Thornton; and her grandparents, Lemon, Lela Thornton, Leslie and Thelma Adams.
She is survived by: her husband Don Benson of Benson; her daughters, Kayla Quincey (Heath) of Jacksonville and Caroline Benson of Benson; her mother Melba Taylor (Jimmy) of Four Oaks; her sisters, Angela Thornton (Fredrick) and Kim Matthis (Elliot); her nieces, Mindi Quinn (Matthew), Tiffany Johnson (Jeremy), Jade Anna King (Robby) and Tori King (Eric); her great-niece Matilyn Quinn; her great-nephews, Walker and Cooper Johnson; her aunt Ann Barbour; her uncle Ronald Adams (Jane); and her parents-in-law, Sharon and Floyd Strickland of Benson.
