She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Pearson and Hattie Wood Denning; her husband Benton Norris Stephenson; and her siblings, L. M. Denning, Jerry W. Denning, Charles E. Denning, Anna Ennis, Lillian Thornton, Christine Peedin, Ruth Burton, Bradley Denning, Roy Denning and Clyde Denning.
She is survived by: her daughter Dr. Sharon Stephenson (Chuck Gordon) of Oriental, NC; her grandchildren, Charles Gordon (Heather) and Mirra Gordon (Francisco); and her great grandchildren, Virginia, Caroline, Felix and Maddox.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Benson United Methodist Church, PO Box 72, Benson, NC 27504.
