With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edward Deal (Burgaw, North Carolina), who passed away on July 7, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Deal and Ruby Mae Croom Deal; and his siblings, Linda Harts and Charles Deal. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Swinson Deal; his children, Sherry Johnson (Steve), Mike Deal (Sherry), Pam Bourgeois (Chuck) and Chris Deal (Melissa); his grandchildren, Heather Cramer (Robert), Al Wilson (Chad), Cameron Shepard (Kevin), Leigh Atkins (Cameron) and Hunter Deal (Melissa); his great grandchildren, Hayley (Stephen), Emaley (Cameron), Stone, Walker and Riverlyn; his great great grandchild Ryker; and his friends, Dale, Debbie Hardison, Bobby, Shannon Deal and Wyatt Deal.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Forest Hills Baptist Church (2711 Penderlea Hwy, Burgaw, NC 28425). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at the Riverview Memorial Park (9332 US-117, Willard, NC 28478).
