With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carolyn Jean Blackwelder Stewart (Burlington, North Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Carolyn Jean Blackwelder left this world on May 31, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Mansfield and Lonnie Blackwelder Sr.; her husband Bobby Stewart; her son Robert Allen Stewart; her brothers, Lonnie "Sonny" Blackwelder Jr., Bill Blackwelder and Charles Blackwelder; and her stepsister Joanne Madren.
She is survived by: her stepfather John Mansfield; her children, Charles Michael Stewart (Cathy) of Orlando, FL and Sandra Leigh Stewart of Burlington; her daughter-in-law Martha Stewart Benfield of Salisbury; her granddaughters, Shana Stewart Wall (Aaron) of Julian and Kara Stewart Karns (Gabe) of Columbus, OH; her great grandchildren, Sean Wall, Corey Wall, Jasper Wall, Raelyn Karns, Vera Karns and Clay Karns; and her sister Frankie Layton (John Layton). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory (2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel (2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215).
