He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hayes and Callie Pearl Currie; and his siblings, Leroy, Gene Hayes, Shirley Brown, Argo Warren and Audrey Hayes.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Poole (Stephanie) of Burlington, Frankie Hayes (Kelly) of DeSoto, TX, Annissa Johnson of Burlington and Stacey Coles of Burlington; and his sister Nancy Wyatt of Burlington. He is also survived by grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
