She was predeceased by: her parents, James V. Payne and Mildred Clark Payne. She is survived by: her husband James E. "Jim" Conklin; her sons, Chris Conklin (Sheri) of Wilmington and Jason Conklin (Karen) of Waxhaw; her siblings, Vickie Easter of Graham and Ralph Payne of Burlington; and her granddaughters, Alexandra Conklin and Caroline Conklin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
