He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Green Carter and Alfred Carter; his son Anthony D Carter; and his brother William Carter. He is survived by: his wife Doris Wells Carter; his children, Calvin Carter (Ashley) and La Vera C. Brown; his stepchildren, Malcolm Pitt (Kristie) and Crystal Pitt; his grandchildren, Chantay Green, Temeka Brown and Calvin D. Carter II; his great grandchildren, Jamal, Gabriel, Jayden and Jaylen; his stepgrandchildren, Shawn Newton, Shakurra Simmons, Jasmine and Nya Pitt; his stepgreat-granddaughter Ryan; his siblings, Kenneth Carter (Hazel) and Dorothy Carter Turner; and his close friend Eric Walker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives.
