She was predeceased by: her spouse Jessie William McKinney; and her parents, Joseph White Dabbs and Nannie Violet Oakley Dabbs. She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Lemuel McKinney (Carolyn) of Burlington and William Lee McKinney (Suzanne) of Charlotte; her grandson Joseph Lee McKinney (Alicia); her great grandchildren, Roslyn, Jessie and Jensen; and her niece Hilda Talley.
