He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Herman and Lillie Slawter Sawyer; and his wife Carol Greeson Sawyer. He is survived by: his son Alan Gray Sawyer (Cheryl) of Liberty; his grandchildren, Scott Alan Sawyer (Melissa), Jennifer Sawyer Blalock (Chad) and Lindsay Sawyer Bentley (David); his great grandchildren, Andy Nicholas Sawyer, Austin Michael Sawyer, Emma Cate Bentley, Sawyer Blaire Blalock and Elizabeth Claire Bentley; his sisters, Yvonne Sawyer Hemphill of Julian and Deane Sawyer Piper of Jamestown; and his caregiver Goldie.
