It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Torain (Burlington, North Carolina), born in Alamance, North Carolina, who passed away on July 25, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Monroe Torain and Margaret Stone Torain; and her siblings, William Torain Jr. and Dorothy Lewis Torain. She is survived by: her brother Jesse Torain; her daughters, Joanna Torain, Sandra Torain, Angela Torain, Catherine Torain (Khadijah) and Lenora Kee; her grandchildren, Rabiah Duncan, Tatiana Paige, Qulimah Muhammah-Torain, Azhane Holston, Jamar Clark, Samal Mayes, Fatir Ellison and Dwayne Duncan; and her great grandchildren, Skylar Duncan, Maxwell Duncan, Fatir Ellison, Jr., Javonni Clark Samaya Mayes and Brandon Mayes. She is also survived by six nieces, six great nieces, ten great-nephews, six great-great nieces, eight great-great nephews; and a host of family and friends.
