She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Guy Brown, Sr. and Mary Adams Brown; her son Gary Wayne Tickle; her grandson John Christopher "Chris" Crumpler; her siblings, LaMonna Brown Matkins, Louise Brown Davis, Winifred Brown Matkins, R. G. Brown, Jr. and Fred Brown; and her sons-in-law, Les Van Fleet and Dale Anderson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Tickle Van Fleet of Burlington, Rena Tickle Crumpler of Elon, Sylvia Tickle Harris (Charles) of Burlington and Bette Tickle Anderson of Greer, SC; and her daughter-in-law Brenda Paris Tickle of Haw River. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
