Linda Faye Scott Atkins Obituary

Linda Faye Scott Atkins, 76, of Burlington passed away at Brookdale Burlington Retirement Community on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

A native of Durham County, she was the wife of the late Bobby Gene Atkins and the daughter of William Archie Scott and Thelma Clayton Scott, both deceased. She retired from the Blue Ribbon Diner with 20 years of service. Linda was a member of Faith Christian Church.

Linda was an animal lover and she loved to read. Her favorite day of the week was always her library book delivery. Linda was a joy to everyone around her, making people smile no matter the situation.

Survivors include two sons, William Jeffrey Squires and Samuel Russell King, five grandchildren: Crystal (David) Sansom, Olivia King, Jordan (Kim) Squires, Katherine Squires, and William Jeffrey Squires Jr.; seven great-grandchildren: Jack Sansom, Emaline Sansom, Lukas Sansom, Clara Sansom, Lincoln Squires, Nolan Squires, and Mila Squires; and three step-children, Jo Ann Hensley, Jeanie Parker (Jim), and June Atkins. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel B. Squires and sister, Pela Jean Scott.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Reid Dickens with the family receiving friends immediately following the service.
