It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mabel Mathews of Burlington, North Carolina, born in Alamance, North Carolina, who passed away on May 30, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, J. L. Pettigrew and Mary Baldwin Pettigrew; her husband Harold S. Mathews; and her siblings, Treva Cobb, Ruby Lea, James, Buck and Grover Pettigrew.
She is survived by: her daughter Pamela K. Mooneyham (Donald) of Castle Hayne; and her granddaughter Katlin Mooneyham Dewitt (Matthew) of Charlottesville, VA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
