It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jean Dew (Burlington, North Carolina), born in Alamance, North Carolina, who passed away on November 5, 2025, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mary Jean may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mary Jean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her mother Janice Elaine Somerset Dew. She is survived by: her siblings, Faith Dew, Susan Wrenn, Richard Dew (Denise), Stacey Claybrook (Josh) and Brad Dew (Kaitlyn). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Glen Raven Baptist Church (335 Glen Raven Rd, Burlington, NC 27217). A burial will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Hill Cemetery (1200 S Main St, Burlington, NC 27215).
