She was predeceased by: her parents, Colin Bernard and Bessie Mozelle Hawk Neese; her husband Leonard Grady Strickland; her granddaughter Tammy Demick; and her sisters, Betty Vance, Margaret Edwards and Eleanor Gray Neese.
She is survived by: her children, Jean Carol Smith (Garland), Kenneth Shawn Strickland, William Keith Strickland and Curtis Dwayne Strickland; her grandchildren, Robert, Theresa, Johnny, Brandy, Tonya, Misty, Whitney and Marcel; and her siblings, Patricia Mashburn, Glenda Guthrie and Howard Neese. She is also survived by twenty-three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
