It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Marie Ellison Hayes (Burlington, North Carolina), born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, who passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Ellison (Doc) and Rachel Ellison; her children, Jeffrey Duane Walker (Karen Winkfield) and Wanda Marie Walker (Jimmie Giles); and her brothers, Harold Cade Ellison and William Jennings Ellison.
She is survived by: her sister Hayes; her daughter Dr. Cheryl Walker-McGill; her nephews, Lieutenant Keith Ellison (Bengy) and Gregory Ellison; and her grandchildren, Whitnee Giles and Ashley Winkfield.
