She was predeceased by: her husband William James McAdams, Jr. (W. J.); her parents, Henry Clayborne and Clarice Hadassie Foster Guthrie; her son Larry Kent McAdams; her grandson Larry K. McAdams, Jr.; and her great grandchild Thomas Wayne Brown, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, William Clayborne McAdams of Graham, James Edward McAdams (Brenda) of Burlington and Margaret Jeanette McAdams Terry (Junior) of Spartanburg, SC; her grandchildren, LuAnn Brown, Suzanne Smith, Clay McAdams, Lisa Peele, Jim McAdams, Tammy McAdams, Sandy Johnson, Paige Payne, Heath Terry and Nathan McAdams; and her sister Carolyn Parrish of Burlington. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
