He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Stafford Foster, Jr. (Bill) and Joanne Mann Foster; his wife Janet Sherard Foster; his son William Stafford Foster, IV (Bobo); his stepson John Lynn Blackwood (Stephanie); his stepgrandson Banks S. Blackwood; his sister Susan F. Royal (David); his niece Marissa Meyzen; and his friend Abel.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private celebration of life will be held for the family at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
