It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Spencer Poteat (Burlington, North Carolina), who passed away on May 3, 2019, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Annette Hill and Robert Hester Poteat; and his parents, Robert Poteat and Minerva Poteat. He is survived by: his wife Annie Mae Davidson; his daughters, Faye Penny of Burlington and Kaye Bumpers (Kevin) of Danville, VA; his grandchildren, Jamie, Rachel of Burlington, Vanessa of Danville, Tiffany of Danville and Kevin II of Danville; his sisters, Semond Coleman of Milton and Brenda Pointer (Johnnie) of South Boston, VA; his sister-in-law Jeanette Poteat of Danville, VA; his nieces, Sharone Hamlett and Peaches Coleman of Miton; his aunt Geneva Jeffries of Milton; and his uncles, George McCain of Milton and Roosevelt Blackwell of Norfolk, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, cousins and friends.
