It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Whitson (Burnsville, North Carolina), who passed away on June 8, 2021, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Whitson and Opal Whitson (Johnson); his wife Fleta Sue Whitson (Winters) of Crabtree; and his sister Carcie Lee Whitson. He is survived by : his children, Melissa "Missy" Whitson (David Uchiyama) and Brian Whitson (Michelle York); his grandson Malachi Whitson; his sisters, Betty Brawley, Freda Grandt, Donna Jones, Ronna Jones (Roger) and Darlene Vincent; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Winters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
