He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson William and Jewell Edith Mathis Penland; and his brothers, Leroy and Ronnie Penland. He is survived by: his siblings, Joey Penland of Swannanoa and Tammy Penland of Burnsville; and his siblings' children, Austin Penland, Cody Dodd (Jessica), Bethany Penland and Tritan Penland.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Yancey Funeral Service (378 Charlie Brown Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
