He was predeceased by: his parents, William Marion and Avonell Carpenter Sayles; and his son Mark Sayles. He is survived by: his wife Trilbia Jean Hamilton Sayles; his children, LaRema S. Holden (Dennis), Rodney C. Sayles (Tammy) and Chris Sayles; his brothers, Larry Sayles (Dot) and Bill Russell (Rene); and his half-siblings, Jimmy Hess and Sharon Brocklehurst.
