He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gaines and Ellie Lou Connell Chason; his wife Mary Austin Chason; and his brother Foster (Lois Chason). He is survived by: his sons, David Chason (Teresa) of Canton, Derek Chason (Carolyn) of Cornelius and Don Chason (Patti) of Harrisburg; his brother Alvin Chason (Betty) of Hendersonville; and his grandchildren, Jessica Chason Reed (Zack), Kyle, Charley, Casey and Tess Chason.
