With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Longley of Canton, North Carolina, born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on August 17, 2021 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean Longley to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Levon Kenny and Iola Ezell Kenny; and her brother Don Kenny. She is survived by: her husband Max B. Longley; her daughters, Lisa Leatherwood (Bob) of Waynesville, Jodi Pierce (Guy) of High Point and Lia Clemens (Neal) of McKinney, Texas; her grandchildren, Kaelyn Pierce, Hailey Pierce, Zoë Leatherwood, Ally Leatherwood, Brandon Clemens, Emily Clemens and Jordan Pierce (Ashley); and her great grandchildren, Jane and Henry Pierce.
Following CDC guidelines, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Silver Bluff Village due to recent increase in Covid-19 cases.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a non-profit scholarship, Haywood Community College Foundation/Silver Bluff Nursing Hero Endowment, 185 Freelander Drive, Building 100, Clyde, NC 28721.
