It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Ball (Canton, North Carolina), born in Madison, North Carolina, who passed away on April 19, 2018, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent John Quincey; his wife Mary Toleda Whitt Ball; his daughter Connie Lynn Ball; and his siblings, Elizabeth Large, Mildred Cruz, John Quincy Ball, Jr., Beige Ball (Bud) and James Ball (Jim).
He is survived by: his parent Gertrude Edwards Ball; his children, Donna Ball-Metcalf (Steve) of Weaverville, Gary Ball (Janet) of Fletcher and Gordon Ball (DeAnna) of Weaverville; his brother Phillip Ball (Fay) of Mars Hill; his siblings-in-law, Vance Whitt of Mars Hill, Ellazene Wells of Johnson City and Jo Garrison of Weaverville; his grandchildren, Ali Ball Bunch (Ryan), Leah McCrae Ball, Lauren Annabella Ball, Alexander Duncan Ball and Mary Catherine Ball; and his great grandchild Penelope Clover Bunch. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
