He was predeceased by : his parents, Vesta Elizabeth Mayfield and Charlie Luper; his brother Gary Arrington; and his niece Andrea J. Lamb. He is survived by : his sons, Josh Luper (Isabella) of Stafford, VA and Cody Luper (Danielle) of Stumpy Point; his siblings, Cindy Sewell (Mike) of Roanoke Rapids, Betsy Nagy of Rocky Mount, Joan Lucas of Rocky Mount and Tim Luper (Sylvia) of Rocky Mount; his sister-in-law Brenda Arrington of Elm City; and his grandson Braidan Luper (Berkley).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service (507 US-158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM and at 2:00 PM.
