It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Joy Cooksey of Cape Fear, North Carolina, born in Letcher, South Dakota, who passed away on November 1, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reuben Smith and Marian Smith (Fish); her children, LaMont Eiseman and Pamela Eiseman; her husbands, Robert Eiseman and David Thomas Cooksey; and her brothers, Donald Smith and Doyle Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, LaVon Barth (Keith), Susan Kingery, Sally Staub (Anthony) and Tammie Wilson; and her brother Darrell Smith (Georgia). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will fund a monument marker.
