It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Howard Partee Benfield in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hardee Partee Benfield and Jenny Leanna Hefner Benfield; and his siblings, Boyd, Paul, Clifford, Cainey Benfield and Ruth B. Clarke.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Nell Knight Benfield; his children, Pat Benfield (Mary Beth) of Granite Falls, NC and Genice Nix (Roger) of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Emily Benfield Cunningham (Michael), Adam Nix (Cori) and Will Benfield; and his great grandchildren, Luke and Logan Nix.
All are welcome, but the family asks that social distancing guidelines are followed and masks are properly worn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1787 Cajah's Mountain Road, Hudson, NC 28628.
