Barbara Dearman Pipkin Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 25, 2021, Barbara Dearman Pipkin of Chapel Hill, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Iva Lee and Vance Lee Dearman; her sister Wanda Dearman Frick; her daughter Elizabeth Lee Pipkin Michels (Betsy); and her brothers-in-law, Roy Oberg and Buddy Frick.
She is survived by: her husband Mike Pipkin (Mike); her children, Kathryn Pipkin McKinney of Winston-Salem, David Pipkin (Adonna) of Hampstead, NC and Dr. Eben Alexander III of Charlottesville, VA; her grandchildren, Charlie Mckinney of Raleigh, NC, Isabella Pipkin, Samantha Pipkin of Hampstead, NC, Dr. Eben Alexander IV of Norfolk, VA and Bond Alexander of Fort Collins, CO; and her sister Dale Oberg of Pawleys Island, SC.. She is also survived by her mother, her sister, herself and their spouses and children to include grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to UNC-Chapel Hill MURAP (Moore Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program) – Elizabeth Michels Memorial Fund (program code: 101462).
