He was predeceased by: his parents, Claudie Barnes and Ritha A. Smith Barnes; and his siblings, Audrey Evans, Samuel Barnes and George Barnes.
He is survived by: his children, Carol A. Wynne (Bob) of Chapel Hill, NC and Bryan K. Barnes (Mary) of Olive Branch, MS; his sisters, Donna Strunk of Elizabeth City, NC and Virginia Brickhouse of Camden, NC; his grandchildren, Tiffany Banks, Jessica Wynne, Rachel Wynne, Bree Barnes and Blake Barnes; and his great grandchildren, Greyson Banks and Sutton Banks.
